The tune, titled “Call Out Your name,” was released as a digital single on Friday, March 28. Americansongwriter report.
A post about the new song on Lamboo’s social media pages included a quote from the Who legend commenting on the collaboration.
“It was an honor to be asked to play guitar on one of Inge Lamboo’s new tracks,” he wrote. “I follow her work on Instagram and she is making terrific Indie-style music with some really smart twists. The guitar work on her tracks is perfectly wonderful without me, so I decided to throw some mud at the wall—in the old ’60s style, and amazingly it worked. Inge is a special talent, we should ALL look out for her.”
“Call Out Your Name” will be featured on Lamboo’s upcoming studio album, This Is How the Future Sounds, which is due out May 30. In addition, the track will be released as a 7-inch vinyl single on April 12 as part of the 2025 Record Store Day event in the Netherlands.

A post on Lamboo’s official website explained that the collaboration with Townshend came about after he sent her a message complimenting her music. “You’re really good,” the note read. “Looking forward to more.”
According to the post, Lamboo then spent a number “sleepless nights” trying to get up the courage to ask Pete to play on one of her new songs.
As the statement explained, “She … sends a message with her most indie song, ‘Call Out Your Name.’ Two weeks later, Townshend responds with his contribution, a blazing guitar solo that he has patented. The windmill-like arm gestures from his heyday are something the listener can imagine.”
“His playing is very recognizable, rhythmic, and full of attitude,” Lamboo commented.
The note added, “She solos just as fiercely alongside him. Pete is on the left, and Inge is on the right. She also points out the Morse code he hides in his guitar playing.”
Meanwhile, Lamboo posted a message on her social media pages on March 28 expressing her excitement about the song’s release.
“I’ve never felt as happy as today!! ‘Call Out Your Name’ [featuring] Pete Townshend is now available to listen to on your favorite streaming platform,” she wrote. “What a ride so far – and it’s just the beginning… :)”
Lamboo added, “Pete, thank you for this chance, your amazing playing, your perspective on the song, and the fun and inspiring conversation. I’m so thankful, happy, proud and in love with this song and collaboration. A dream come true.”
