The video opens with a clip of the moon, before a string of disorientating images begin to flash on the screen, including sperm racing toward an egg, an eye filled with flames, and lights zipping through darkness.
Pink Floyd have topped the UK album chart for the second time in 2025 with the 50th anniversary edition of Wish You Were Here taking the coveted Christmas number one spot, which guitarist David Gilmour has taken to social media to celebrate.
It also marks the longest gap in UK chart history between the first time an album reached number one and its second appearance at the top of the charts, with Wish You Were Here having debuted at the top upon its release 50 years ago.

And another iconic rock band in the form of Oasis will be eyeing the festive crown, with (What’s The Story) Morning Glory? – Singles Box (3). Released to celebrate 30 years of the iconic (What’s The Story) Morning Glory? album, this physical variant is comprised of a 7" singles box set - a replica of the highly collectible original 1996 CD cigarette style box.
Wish You Were Here adds its first new platinum award in well over a quarter-century. The album was certified six-times platinum in the spring of 1997, and it has been quietly adding to its total and working toward more honors ever since.
The stores, hosted in collaboration with News & Coffee, will appear in London, Barcelona, Los Angeles and Paris.
Each location will stock an exclusive ‘Wish You Were Here 5’0 edition of the Brain Damage fanzine – a revival of the editorial project originally founded and produced by Glenn
Povey, with five editions available worldwide. Also available is an exclusive limited anniversary pressing of ‘Wish You Were Here 50’, and a selection of strictly limited edition commemorative merchandise.
The news of the pop-up shops follows the announcement of a 50th anniversary edition of the album featuring unheard versions of classic tracks.
‘Wish You Were Here 50’ is due to arrive on December 12 as a deluxe box set. Fans will also be able to hear the new version on digital platforms, and own it on 3LP, 2CD and Blu-ray. Pre-order here.
In addition, Noel Fielding created some paintings inspired by Syd Barrett to celebrate the reissue of Pink Floyd’s ‘Shine On You Crazy Diamond’.
