The singer, 76, and the legendary Starman hitmaker had a romance in the 1970s after meeting at a hotel in Sheffield.
Detailing her first night of passion with David, Lulu said her memory is a bit hazy due to being a bit tipsy, but insists their relationship wasn't just about sex.
She explained: 'You know what, I have never said "Yes, I had sex with David Bowie" until now. This is the first time I've said it because I've always chose not to speak about it.
'It was private. And if I'm 100% honest, which I have decided that's what I'm going to be, I think I was slightly pissed.
'I can't really remember. Only to say that he got me there and we were in his room, and you know, we performed the acts and I don't have to go into bloody details because I can't actually remember details, but I wouldn't share them anyway. I do have boundaries. I'm learning to have boundaries.'
She continued: 'But the point is, I did and it was an incredible experience to work with a guy like that, to be in his orbit. He honoured me.'
'I’m only looking to be loved and to give love. And I don't mean I want to have affairs and it's about sex. It's about a much deeper thing than that. And that was what we shared. I felt he saw me.'
It comes after it was revealed that Lulu admitted she was 'afraid of sex' while growing up in the sixties, at the peak of her career.

Lulu on working with David Bowie: I felt like I’d been heard
Lulu has said the late David Bowie made her feel heard within the music industry after she had “a lot of tears and a lot of struggles” with record label executives.
"When I met Bowie David said ‘The labels don’t get you. They don’t get your voice either. I’m going to make a hit record with you’.
“When he said that to me, I felt like I’d been heard and I’d been seen because it’s hard to negotiate with people who’ve been in the business for a long time.”
