‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ has been certified Diamond in the US by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The six-minute progressive rock epic’s Diamond award represents 10 million or more in sales and stream equivalents in the United States.
Queen are the first British band to earn a Diamond song award Stateside and guitarist Brian May says the honour is “beyond” his wildest dreams.
"This is incredible news. At times like this I have to pinch myself to be sure it's real," says Brian. "All those wild dreams we had — this is beyond any of them. Huge thanks to all who have believed in us over the years."
Brian May, Roger Taylor and Co. also have made history once again by becoming the first band to be feted with an official U.K. coin, created by The Royal Mint last year.
The commemorative coin is launched today (Jan. 20), with Queens on both sides: her majesty Queen Elizabeth II on one face, and the "Bohemian Rhapsody" greats on the other.

LONDON (Reuters) - Britain’s Royal Mint has issued its first commemorative coin featuring a British rock group, in a tribute to the late Freddie Mercury and the three other band members of Queen.
“This is a ‘who would’ve thought it’ moment. Here we have a coin of the realm, a five-pound coin in fact, made by The Royal Mint, in the customary fashion,” said Queen lead guitarist Brian May in a video clip, holding a one ounce silver proof coin.
“On one side we have The Queen (Elizabeth), on the other side we have Queen. This never happened before,” he said.
The coins’ design features the instruments played by each founding member: Brian May’s Red Special guitar, John Deacon’s Fender Precision bass, Roger Taylor’s Ludwig bass drum decorated with the Queen crest, and Freddie Mercury’s Bechstein grand piano with the opening notes of "Bohemian Rhapsody" pressed down.
