Yamaha's new gimmick is called TurnT, a modern take on the classic turntable. The main feature is to use the smartphone instead of the classic vinyl. In detail, the device is nothing more than a Bluetooth speaker that uses the smartphone to play music.
To work, however, it is not enough to connect the phone to the device, but you need to download a dedicated app and use the smartphone as if it were a real LP. An animation will play the vinyl on the display and the user will have to put the mechanical arm on it to reproduce the audio. The artwork itself is designed by Ringo Starr and was carefully created and developed by him over the course of many years.
