Earlier on May Roger Daltrey will play at Jacobs Park, San Diego, CA on 6 May 2024.
Before the American tour, where further dates are expected in addition to the two already set, Roger will hold the Teen Ager Cancere Trust for the last time, in Lobdra, Royal ALbert Hall, of which he is the founder and promoter. This year’s edition of the charity’s annual run of concerts – curated by The Who’s Roger Daltrey – is due to take place at the Royal Albert Hall between March 18 and March 24.
Robert Plant, Roger Daltrey, Kelly Jones, Pete Townshend, Eddie Vedder and Paul Weller will play the 2024 TCT edition.
Noel Gallagher, The Chemical Brothers also to play 2024 Teenage Cancer Trust gigs.
On the line-up for the final show will be Daltrey, Kelly Jones, Robert Plant with Saving Grace, , Eddie Vedder and Paul Weller.
Unfortunately, Pete Townshend is going to Miss the Show Honoring Who Bandmate Roger Daltrey At Teen Age Cancer Trust because of ‘Tommy’ Musical Revival’s Opening.
In a message posted on The Who’s social media sites, Townshend explained that he had to bow out of the show because he has previous commitments in New York City. “I love you Rog, knock ’em dead. See you soon for rehearsals.”
“I am sorry to say that I will not be performing with Roger at his OVATION event on Sunday 24th March,” he wrote. “It was assumed by the organizers that I would be appearing after the two Who shows with orchestra, but in fact I will be in New York doing TV shows to support the opening of The Who’s TOMMY on Broadway which happens on March 28th.”
Daltrey and what remains of the Who will open the series with two gigs on March 18 and 20, with an evening of comedy in between the two shows. Gallagher will be supported by Blossoms for his gig on March 21, before gigs from The Chemical Brothers and Young Fathers on the following two nights.
