Roger Waters is about to blow out the eighty candles, without ever abandoning his outspoken and direct character, nor his desire to amaze.
Born on September 6, 1943 in Great Bookham, Surrey in Great Britain, Waters still has no intention of retiring.
Recently the former Pink Floyd got into arguments with a reporter from The New Statesman over the re-recording of "The Dark Side of the Moon". And taken the defense of former bandmate David Gilmour by pointing out his talent as a guitarist, despite the relationship between the two, which has not been idyllic for years, in recent times has further escalated due to decidedly distant positions on issues very topical.
In a lengthy post on Twitter, Waters singled out an article published by The New Statesman titled The War within Pink Floyd(opens in new tab), and took aim at the fact it quoted him as labeling Gilmour’s guitar solos in The Dark Side of the Moon as “horrible”.
However, The New Statesman’s article attributed the quote to a Spanish publication called El País(opens in new tab) – which in turn did not cite a source at the time – with the latter suggesting the solos were removed by Waters’ from his upcoming re-recorded version of The Dark Side of the Moon as they were “horrible”.

What made the 79-year-old Great Bookham artist lose his temper, however, was the passage relating to the re-recording work of the classic "The Dark Side of the Moon".
