Sam Mendes is making four upcoming Beatles films – each focusing on one member of the Fab Four – and earlier this year, it was revealed that the legendary band will be portrayed by Harris Dickinson, Paul Mescal, Barry Keoghan and Joseph Quinn.
Multiple sources have told Deadline that the 31-year-old actress has joined the cast of The Beatles - A Four-Film Cinematic Event to portray Linda, the first wife of Sir Paul McCartney, who will be portrayed by Paul Mescal in the project.
While Ronan’s interpretation of Linda is expected to feature heavily in the instalment that will center around Paul McCartney, it is currently unknown if she will appear in the three remaining films.
Each film is expected to tell the story of a different member of the Fab Four.
As a result, Ronan is likely to feature heavily in the movie about McCartney, but it's not known how much screen time she will have in the other three films.
American photographer and passionate animal rights activist Linda tragically passed away in 1998 aged 56, following a battle with breast cancer.
She was also part of Paul's post-Beatles band Wings, but she faced criticism from some for her vocals.
Mescal recently admitted he has spent time with McCartney ahead of portraying him in the movies, admitting it was a "crazy" moment in his life.
Asked if he has connected with his namesake Paul, he told IndieWire: "I have, yeah.
"He’s an extraordinary man, like to spend any time - it’s a crazy sentence to say that I’ve spent time with that man, let alone play him."
Quizzed on whether he will be doing his own singing in the four films, Mescal said: "Yeah, yeah, absolutely yeah."
After a year of speculation, Mendes has confirmed that the Fab Four will be portrayed by Harris Dickinson, Paul Mescal, Barry Keoghan and Joseph Quinn. Dickinson will play John Lennon, Mescal will play Paul McCartney, Keoghan will play Ringo Starr and Quinn will play George Harrison.
Recently Talking Heads have premiered the first ever music video for their iconic hit ‘Psycho Killer’ starring Saoirse Ronan to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their live debut.
Ronan said: “To simply be mentioned in the same breath as Talking Heads is hands down one of the coolest things that has ever happened to me, let alone making a video with the singular Mike Mills to accompany one of their most iconic songs – ‘Psycho Killer’. The film franchise is being titled The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event, and in a shocking announcement, Mendes revealed that all four films will arrive in April 2028, though not at the same time.
