At the event, UFC winner Josh Hokit ended a post-match interview by sharing praise for the president and making reference to one of the oldest and most persistent smears directed at the former first lady, saying that “Michelle Obama is a man”.
That wasn’t the only political barb on the night either, with The Guardian reporting that there were some spectators on the night who could be heard shouting “Canada is the 51st state” – referencing Trump’s repeated threat to annex the country.
Following the match, Sheryl Crow took to social media to criticise the event and the offensive comments made against Michelle Obama.
