Small Faces' greatest songs on Decca Singles 1965-1967

By VMZ Staff on July 16, 2026

"Dressed to kill, all unbridled energy." Some of Small Faces' greatest songs – and a managerial battle – documented on Decca Singles 1965-1967

Among the Decca Singles are some of Small Faces’ greatest songs - and also a battle to the death with their manager and label for control of them.

The band broke with Arden and Decca and moved to Immediate Records, but there was a big mess going on with their manager and old label. The last two singles in this collection were released without the band’s permission: I Can’t Make, a fine soulful R&B ballad, which the band refused to promote, and Patterns, with Ronnie Lane on lead vocals and which also had the craziest B-side of any of the singles here, E Too D.

Recently Small Faces’ classic 1968 album Ogdens’ Nut Gone Flake was just   reissued on March 6, 2026, via Kenney Jones and manager Nigel Adams’ new label Nice Records, Uncut reports.

A limited edition single LP features a half-speed master of the album cut by Henry Rudkins at AIR Studios from Nick Robbins’ 2018 master of the original mono mix, transferred from the only surviving analogue master tape from Trident Studios. It comes with a lavish recreation of the original circular fold-out sleeve, including a four-panel insert reproducing the master tape box on the front plus illustrated sleeve notes by Small Faces authority Mark Paytress and an introduction by Kenney Jones.

The remastered 3CD format features mono and stereo mixes, plus a third CD of rarities and outtakes from Kenney Jones’ personal tape archive. Pre-order here and peruse the tracklisting of the rarities CD below.
