In a new interview with Rolling Stone, the iconic Fleetwood Mac singer reflected on the ending of the Amazon Prime Video series, which saw Sam Claflin’s Billy Dunne reunite with Riley Keough‘s Daisy after being encouraged by his wife to give his former bandmate a call after she passes away.
Though the series was intentionally left open-ended, Nicks was keen to suggest where the story could go if the show were to return for a second season.
“I wish that it could go into what if … had Billy come back after Billy’s wife died and knocked on her door, and they decided to make that last record that I always hoped that Lindsey and I would make. That would make a fantastic second season,” Nicks said.
The singer also revealed that she shared her thoughts with Keough and Reese Witherspoon, who executive produced the show. “I talked to Reese and Riley about it, and they loved the idea, but everybody’s so busy. Riley’s on her way to becoming a big movie star. But maybe one of these days, they’ll do it. Until I saw Daisy Jones & The Six, I would have never thought it was even possible to emulate our life.”
Despite fans hoping — and demanding — a second season of the Prime Video miniseries adaptation of Tara Jenkin Reid’s best-selling novel, Keough tells me, “I would love to but I don’t know if it’s in the cards…I haven’t heard anything.”
Keough’s new series, “Under the Bridge,” is an adaptation of late journalist Rebecca Godfrey’s book about Reena Virk (Vritika Gupta), a 14-year-old Canadian girl who was bullied and murdered by classmates in 1997. Keough portrays Godfrey in the eight-episode series as she begins work on the book while reconnecting with family and friends in her hometown.

Because the similarities between the series and Fleetwood Mac were so apparent upon reading and watching Taylor Jenkins Reid's offering, many fans of the show eagerly awaited the response of the band - especially from Stevie Nicks, who Riley was clearly channelling in her role as Daisy. Taking to Twitter, the reigning Queen of Rock & Roll said: "Just finished watching @daisyjonesand6 for the 2nd time. In the beginning, it wasn't really my story, but Riley seamlessly, soon became my story," she shared.
