In 1979, Talking Heads released one of their most acclaimed albums, Fear of Music, featuring such fan-favorites as “I Zimbra” and “Heaven.” Now, Rhino is giving the project the super deluxe treatment, re-releasing the album with loads of bonus content and previously unreleased material. To accompany the announcement, they’ve shared a new live video of “Life During Wartime.”
Releasing alongside SiriusXM’s dedicated Talking Heads channel, the new package is set to drop on November 13th. It’ll be available via 3xCD/Blu-ray, 2xLP, and 6xLP packages, with the vinyl editions featuring a custom etching. The super deluxe packages (3xCD and 6xLP) will also feature two fully captured concerts (Live at the Berklee Performance Center, Boston, MA [8/24/79] and Live at Capitol Theatre, Passaic, NJ [11/17/79]) and a 60-page hardcover book that includes rare photos from the era and liner notes by Will Hermes, author of Love Goes to Buildings on Fire: Five Years in New York That Changed Music Forever. The Blu-ray, meanwhile, includes “new Dolby Atmos, 5.1 surround sound and high-resolution stereo mixes of the album” and footage of the band performing two songs for the BBC series Old Grey Whistle Test.
