The additional hour that was newly commissioned as a fresh finale for the 1995 series is premiering Friday on Disney+.

The newly refurbished version of “The Beatles Anthology” has been rolling out on Disney+ over a period of days this week, with a newly commissioned Episode 9 premiering on the service Friday night. It gives the epic 1995 docuseries more than just a new edit and a fresh set of paint: it gives it an all-new finale that feels sweeter than the way the original project faded out with the gradual breakup of the most popular band of all time. And fans aren’t likely to mind the extra hour’s worth of either added context or additional sentiment.

The Anthology 4 compilation also will be made available as a standalone release.
The first three episodes of the remastered series have  arrived on Disney+ on November 26.

Anthology 4 can be pre-ordered now at The Beatles’ official online store as a two-CD set and a three-LP package. The collection, which was curated by producer Giles Martin, features 36 tracks, 13 of which are previously unreleased. Most of the recordings span from 1963 through 1969, and include studio outtakes, alternate takes, and a live performance.

The Beatles’ landmark “Anthology” documentary series has been restored and remastered, Showbiz411 reports.

There is now a completely new Episode Nine, including unseen behind-the-scenes footage of Paul, George and Ringo coming together between 1994 and 1995 to work on “The Anthology” and reflecting on their shared life as The Beatles.

The restoration has been overseen by Apple Corps’ production team, working with Peter Jackson’s Wingnut Films & Park Road Post teams along with Giles Martin, who has created new audio mixes for the majority of the featured music.

The release is November 21st, in time for the holidays.

An Anthology book will be released on October 14th, for $46. No price yet on the rest of the music and video.
There are choices of 12 LPs Vinyl, 8CDs, and Digital Collections. “Anthology 4,” newly curated by Giles Martin, includes 13 previously unreleased demos and session recordings and other rare recordings. It also includes new mixes of The Beatles’ Anthology-associated hit singles: the GRAMMY-winning “Free As A Bird” and “Real Love,” given new life by their original producer, Jeff Lynne, using de-mixed John Lennon vocals.

The original series, ‘Anthology 1’ arrived in November 1995, around the same time as a documentary that included interviews with the members and archival footage of both live performances and rehearsals. It was followed up by two more albums, aptly named ‘Anthology 2’ and ‘Anthology 3’, which both arrived in 1996.

Now, with the number four being included in the post, some fans are certain that it could indicate the upcoming release of ‘Anthology 4’. “anthology 4 confirmed???” one wrote, while another added: “An anthology boxset? ‘Free as a bird’ and ‘Real love’ with the voice of John cleaned? Anthology 4?”

But we’re trying to just say how it felt to us.”

The Beatles Anthology is the Grammy Award winning 3 part miniseries that tells, in the Beatles' own words, the dramatic and astonishing story of the most influential band in rock history.

The series charts the official history of the Beatles from their earliest days in Liverpool up to the break up of the group in 1970. Using a mixture of archive footage, home movies, never before seen concert footage and unheard studio tracks, together with interviews with the Beatles themselves, the Anthology invites you as John Lennon would say 'into the eye of the hurricane'.

Originally screened on the ABC Network in 1995.
