Originally written by Pete Townshend for Quadrophenia and later featured in the film adaptation, Love, Reign O’er Me remains one of Roger Daltrey’s most iconic vocal performances. This new cinematic version reimagines the recording - introducing the track to a new generation through one of the year’s most anticipated film releases.
The song had previously been rearranged by Pete Townshend as his orchestral remake of Quadrophenia's anthem "Love, Reign O'er Me." The new video is the first sample from his Classic Quadrophenia project—a symphonic rendering of The Who's legendary 1973 rock opera.
British tenor Alfie Boe gives Roger Daltrey's explosive anguish a lyrical twist. He's joined by the London Oriana Choir and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, who increasingly shape a swirling chord pattern; a march of intertwining melodramatic bangers.

Rumours of new music from the rock giants follow on from the guitarist recently signing a deal with Primary Wave, an agreement that will see them work together on “the exploitation of his name, image, and likeness and the development and exploitation of future creative projects”
Outlets including Variety have speculated that the deal involved a nine-figure sum, and Primary Wave have said they believe the potential when it comes to “branding and content opportunities” is “boundless”.
They also added that they are working with the guitarist to “establish a footprint across social media channels”, and Townshend has said that the deal is both “a joy for me” and will help him move “forward with my creative and performative work”.
