In photos obtained by PEOPLE, Chalamet channeled Dylan, 82, in a classically ‘60s outfit while holding a worn guitar case in his hand as he walked the city streets dressed in jeans, a green jacket, an orange scarf, a paperboy hat and had a large yellow backpack on his back.

The two actors, who co-star in Dune: Part Two, which is in cinemas now, were speaking to NME about their respective roles as the American music icons, and speculated about the possibility of there being a shared universe between the two films.
Speaking about his preparation for A Complete Unknown, in which the Wonka star will play Dylan, Chalamet said he had been “picking” Butler’s brain non-stop for tips on how to portray such a legendary music figure.

The great actor (American History X, Fight Club and The Incredible Hulk, The Italian Job, , Dirty Work , After the Sunset, The Illusionist), was chosen to play the role of folk singer Pete Seeger.
The role was originally given to English actor Benedict Cumberbatch who, according to Deadline Hollywood, had to give up the part due to other contractual commitments.
Producer James Mangold discussed the upcoming Bob Dylan film, which will be titled A Complete Unknown. When asked if the Bob Dylan was involved in the film at all, Mangold revealed that the musician had “personally annotated” the script, and that Dylan and Mangold had spent several days together discussing the film.

The film now has not only its Dylan in the form of Timothee Chalamet, but also its female lead in the star Elle Fanning in the role of Dylan’s early 1960s love interest, student and artist Sylvie Russo.
