
She added: “There are so many loser gatekeepers who want you to believe that you need 20-plus chords in a song for it to be worthy. In reality there are so many bangin’ songs that literally are just two chords.”
Despite that, she explained that it doesn’t take a genius to play music.
“The first song I ever tried to play on guitar was ‘Molly’s Chambers’ by Kings Of Leon – back when the band was super-trashy and fun. It was a real epiphany to learn that you don’t have to be a virtuoso guitarist to enjoy playing music with your friends,” said Teasdale
Wet Leg served as the musical guest on the inaugural episode of Saturday Night Live UK on March 21. The British indie-rock band played “Mangetout” and “Catch These Fists” alongside host Tina Fey.
The line-up of hosts and musical guests for the first three instalments has now been revealed.
US actor and comedian Tina Fey will present the debut episode, with Wet Leg scheduled to perform live. For next week’s edition (March 28), Northern Irish actor Jamie Dornan (Belfast) will take on hosting duties, with Wolf Alice lined up as the musical guests.
Episode three (airing on April 4) is set to see actor Riz Ahmed (Bait, Hamlet) presenting, while Kasabian provide the live music.
A press release reads: “Together, this first wave of hosts, musical guests and cast members marks the beginning of a bold new chapter for the globally acclaimed SNL franchise – blending its storied legacy with a fresh generation of British comedy voices.”
Live from London at 10pm every Saturday night, each 75-minute episode will see a different host take to the stage alongside SNL UK’s inaugural cast.
The original Saturday Night Live, which is in its 51st season, is currently on hiatus—the next episode, set for April 4, will feature Jack Black as host and Jack White as musical guest. Other musical guests this season have included Harry Styles, Gorillaz, Geese, and A$AP Rocky.
