Yellow Submarine and Beaatles will land as a comic book For the 50th anniversary of the Beatles' film. Apple Corporation is authorizing a comic book adaptation of the classic film with Titan Comics. The book will be released in 2018.
In addition to the Yellow Submarine comic adaptation, Titan's collectibles arm Titan Merchandise will also be releasing a line of Titans vinyl collectibles based on the movie. The "All Together Now" collection features two versions of the band, as well as Blue Meanies,
Recording for Yellow Submarine began on Thursday 26 May 1966 at Abbey Road's studio three. The Beatles spent nearly three hours rehearsing the song, before recording four takes of the basic backing track. The recording started at 7,00 pm to 01.am.
They then recorded four takes of the basic backing track, before overdubbing the vocals. Ringo Starr took centre stage, and the other Beatles all contributed backing vocals.
Originally we intended it to be 'Sparky' a children's record. But now it's the idea of a yellow submarine where all the kids went to have fun. I was just going to sleep one night and thinking if we had a children's song, it would be nice to be on a yellow submarine where all your friends are with a band."
Paul purposely used short words in the lyrics because he wanted kids to pick it up early and sing along.
