The music video was directed by Eric Richter, who filmed the video during the North America leg of their world tour, which started in June. Described as a song for “anyone who’s sick of being controlled and manipulated,” the fast-paced video rapidly flashes back and forth between concert footage of the band performing live and dramatic close-ups of each of the five members passionately performing the song as a bright screen shines behind them.
Between powerful slow-motion moments and the raw energy of the band displayed both on and offstage through the pulsating rhythm of the drums and dynamic electric guitar riffs, the atmosphere of both the song and music video expertly depict the message of the lyrics, which is described by Blabbermouth as “[questioning] how much we’re willing to sacrifice to stay on the path of least resistance, when really it’s time to resist.”
As Amy Lee passionately sings, we must ask ourselves “Where’s the line?” when it comes to those who will do anything to break our spirit. The song was co-written with, and produced by, Zakk Cervini (Bad Omens, YUNGBLD, Bring Me The Horizon, Spiritbox) and Jordan Fish (Bring Me The Horizon, Poppy, House of Protection, Architects).
