Hayley Williams has defended Fontaines D.C.’s ‘Dopamine Chamber’ against criticism from some “guys on the internet”, saying that they can’t accept that the band are “multi-faceted and stylistically versatile”.
The Dublin rock giants released their fifth album last week (Friday October 16) – marking the follow-up to 2024’s acclaimed and Mercury-nominated ‘Romance’.
Already, the album has had a huge wave of praise from fans and critics alike, particularly for tracks including the lead single ‘Marianne’, eerie track ‘Tongue’, and cinematic collab with Rosalía, ‘Where Is Gone?’. Now, Hayley Williams has voiced her love of ‘Dopamine Chamber’ and said that those who are throwing some backlash towards the record simply accept that the band are “multi-faceted and stylistically versatile”

While at the venue performing her 2025 song ‘Ice In My OJ’, Williams paused midway through to declare ‘Fuck ICE’ – refering to the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement department – and also shout out “Free motherfucking Palestine”.
She has spoken out in support of Palestine before, and recently stood in solidarity with the artists who dropped out of Ed Sheeran‘s tour, following Macklemore being dropped after calling for a “free Palestine”, by including them in her pre-show playlist.
“America is grateful all the time for our federal law enforcement officers who keep us safe,” they told Fox News Digital. “We suggest Ms. Williams to thank them for their service, not belittle their sacrifice.”
